What are Translation And Transcription?
Translation: this is where we are sent an audio or visual file in a foreign language. We will have a linguist listen to the spoken elements of the file and translate them into English only. This is either marked against time codes (if available) or according to who is speaking.
Transcription: this is where what is said in the foreign language is written down in the foreign language. So if it is spoken in Russian, we have the linguist write down word for word what was said in Russian text.
The two services can of course be combined so that the end result is both what was said, but now in written format, as well as the translation.
